The Hon. J. Brent Bradberry is a judge for the 24th Judicial District Circuit Court of Tennessee. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Bill Lee on October 8, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. C. Creed McGinley.
The 24th Judicial District encompasses Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin, and Henry Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Bradberry was an assistant public defender for the 27th Judicial District Public Defender’s Office. Before that, he was a judicial law clerk to the Hon. William B. Acree, a senior judge of the 27th Judicial District Circuit Court.
Bradberry earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He spent the next twenty years working in furniture manufacturing before completing a J.D. at Nashville School of Law in 2011.
After graduating from law school, Bradberry entered into private practice, working as an associate at James H. Bradberry & Associates in Dresden.
His memberships have included the National Rifle Association. He has also been involved with the McKenzie Public Library Enrichment Foundation and the Carroll County Republican Party.
A veteran of the United States Army, Bradberry and his family were residents of McKenzie, Tennessee, at the time of his appointment.
He is registered as a Republican.
