The Hon. Dipti Pidikiti-Smith is a judge for the 19th Judicial District Court of Virginia. She was elected to the bench by the Virginia General Assembly in 2022.
The 19th Judicial District Court includes the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County.
Prior to her election, she was Deputy Director of Advocacy (2016 to 2022) at Legal Services of Northern Virginia, having joined the office as a senior staff attorney in 2008. Pidikiti-Smith has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. Before relocating to Virginia, she served as a judicial law clerk with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia (2006 to 2007; 2008).
Pidikiti-Smith received a B.S. in biology from Temple University in 2002. She then spent as an elementary school teacher in West Philadelphia before completing a J.D. at the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law, in 2006.
Pidikiti-Smith was inducted as a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation in 2022.
Her memberships include the Fairfax and Alexandria Bar Association. Pidikiti-Smith also chaired the Fairfax County Fair Housing Task Force.
She was raised in India and Nigeria before immigrating to the United States with her family at the age of nine.
