The Hon. David H. Hawthorne is a judge for the Fulton City Court in Oswego County in the Fifth Judicial District of New York. Judge Hawthorne was initially appointed to the City Court by Fulton City Mayor Ron Woodward in 2013 and was then elected to the seat the following year. At the time of his appointment, he filled the vacancy created by the Hon. Spencer Ludington’s election to the County’s Surrogate’s Court.
Judge Hawthorne received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1984. He went on to earn his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1987.
After graduating from law school, Hawthorne entered private practice, where he would remain until assuming the bench. In addition to his work in the private sector, he also served as corporation counsel for the City of Fulton from 1998 to 2003.
His memberships have included the New York State Bar Association, the Oswego County Bar Association, the State of New York Attorney Grievance Committee, and the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority.
