Hon. Darcie L. Fawcett is a judge for the Monroe County Circuit Court in Indiana. She was elected to the bench in 2018.
Prior to her election, Fawcett held an assignment in the Major Felony Division of the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office.
She received a B.A. in psychology and education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduating from university, Fawcett started a teaching position at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. Then, after returning to the United States, she taught for two years in Chicago Public Schools and one year in Indianapolis Public Schools. Fawcett went on to complete a J.D. at Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2004.
She has worked with the Community Transition Program, the Public Relations Program, and the Community Alternative Supervision Program.
Fawcett was also involved with the Prospect Hill Neighborhood Association (past president), the Fairview Elementary PTO (past president), the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association Board, the Hospital Site Reutilization Steering Committee, the Board of Parks Commissioners, the Advisory Committee for the Unified Development Ordinance, the Monroe County Human Rights Commission, and the Bloomington Northside Exchange Club.
She is registered as a Democrat.
