The Hon. Beth Beller is a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Bronx County in the Twelfth Judicial District of New York.
Beller was originally appointed to serve as an interim judge for the Civil Court of the City of New York by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2017. She was subsequently assigned to the Criminal Court of the City of New York. Then, in 2021, Beller was named Acting Justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court.
Prior to her appointment, Beller spent eleven years as a principal court attorney for the New York State Unified Court System, holding assignments with the Hon. Judith Lieb of the Criminal Division of the Bronx County Supreme Court. Before that, she spent seventeen years as an assistant district attorney with the New York County District Attorney's Office. During her tenure there, she sat in the Sex Crimes Unit as well as the Child Abuse Bureau.
Beller earned a B.F.A. from New York University. She then completed a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law in 1988.
Her memberships have included the Criminal Law Committee of the New York Women’s Bar Association as well as a the State Court of Superior Jurisdiction Committee of the New York City Bar Association. She was also a member of the District 2 Community Education Council.
