MAGISTRATE’S ORDER
GRANTING MOTION FOR OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW CAUSE
On September 5, 2023, the undersigned Magistrate issued a Decision denying
plaintiffs’ motion for protective order and issuing sanctions. On September 15, plaintiffs
filed a motion to reconsider sanctions and for an opportunity to show cause why
sanctions should not be imposed. On September 29, defendants Vasani and Vasani filed
a response, by which they did not object to a hearing but requested that the court also
entertain ongoing discovery issues. On October 6, plaintiffs filed a reply, objecting to
the request to expand the scope of the hearing.
For good cause shown, Plaintiffs motion to show cause why sanctions should not
be imposed against them is GRANTED. The hearing shall take place on November
15, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 5D. At such time, plaintiffs shall show cause
why they should not be sanctioned for failing to comply with the April 26, 2023
Magistrate’s Decision compelling discovery. No other substantive discovery issues will
be considered at the hearing. All counsel and witnesses must appear in person.
