Judge Jorge A. Pérez Santiago - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Jorge A. Pérez Santiago is a judge for the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis in May 2023, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Luise Krieger Martin.

Pérez Santiago has held an assignment in the County Civil Division.

Prior to his appointment, he was a junior partner at Stumphauzer Kolay Nadler & Sloman, PLLC since 2022. Pérez Santiago joined the firm as an associate in 2017, handling commercial and class action litigation and white-collar defense during his tenure there. Before that, Pérez Santiago was an associate at Carlton Fields, P.A. (2014 to 2017) and a staff attorney for the Florida Supreme Court (2011 to 2014).

He received a B.S.B.A. in marketing from Georgetown University in 2008. Pérez Santiago then completed a J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law in 2011. As a law student, he served as a judicial intern for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (2009).

Pérez Santiago was vice chair, articles editor, and editor-in-chief of the “CABA Briefs,” the legal journal of the Cuban American Bar Association
